Brooklyn Rescue Umbrella has PayPal

I have updates on a few cats being fostered!

Alexander, the cat who's photo is in the "Donate Now" box for the "gofundme.com" site is scheduled for surgery. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him. He's adopted, but his foster mom has confided in me that if he wasn't, she'd take him in a heart beat. That she doesn't want his new home to fall through, but she'll be sad when he's gone- and I'...
ll miss him too! He's like having a mix of a dog and a person in your home. Laid back, he comes when you call him, and he looks and behaves like he completely understands English-
Blacky has been renamed "Lord Byron"- because the old guy needed a strong and noble name. He's being "permanently fostered" because there was no way his foster mom could possibly part with him even though it seemed like he had very extreme health problems... which he still may, but for now- he tested negative for the main baddies. He's OLLLLLLD so he's fairly skinny, but now he's very active, and engaging. He started responding to "Byron" immediately. What was feared to be organs shutting down from age, is a bit of anemia, raised white blood cells, which hopefully is just from a small infection that went unnoticed at his previous home, and a REALLY stinky case of the runs that we're hoping is just IBS. Non-fatal, there's medications for that, and right now, it's just a little stinky at times.

Valla is being fostered with Alexander. She will be at the next adoption event at the petco that runs from Friday evening to Sunday evening... She's a little shy about her fosters dogs- one of which is the energizer bunny, and can be even overwhelming to people in a very friendly way! But it's set up so Valla can go relax in a room, though she's fallen in love with being HIGH up on top of cabinets near the ceiling when she needs to get away...

Bushy is back at Petco (on Stillwell Avenue and 86th street). His personality is much like Alexanders, but he's a big black cat with 1 slightly crumpled ear... He and Lord Byron both are complete angels in a house with 2 dogs, 4 other cats, 2 rats, 2 finches and 2 mice in a very tempting tube and modular set up. Even her own cats are tempted to grab their wheel as they run on it 'cause it's on the outside of their enclosure... but both Bushy and Lord Byron don't pay them the slightest attention- however, they love to sit and watch the finches!

Bushy is also like having a little person in the house, and if you look at him and say "Where is my little man?" he perks up and trots over to you. If he's bored, he'll walk into your room, and let out a little "mrow" here and there, but it's SO LOW you barely hear it. He likes curling up in darker areas, but again, if you walk in and say "Where's the Bushy???" or something like that, he comes right to you! (And I'm sure he'll learn another name quickly just like Lord Byron did!) He's an older cat, 8 years old, but has a ton of personality, and you fall in love quickly. His foster has said that if she wasn't at her personal cat limit of now, 5 cats- she would adopt him in a heartbeat as well! But her loss will definitely be someone else's gain because my GOODNESS, you look into those eyes once, and he starts rolling around to entertain you- and you'll see that personality that wins over all who see him!

  1. thank you for your generous donations to Brooklyn Rescue Umbrella! We have finished and paid for ear surgery for Alexander; completed and paid for Eye Surgery for Barton and also for Amy and now Clinical work is being done for Pebbles who has a mysterious malady affecting his ability to hold onto any weight. On the less positive side he may have cancer on the more optimistic side it can be a chronic infection. He is on antibiotics for the 4th time now and is getting a/d cat food. He is on a high vitamin drop supplement and resting comfortably.

He is going back to the vet on friday for more blood tests.

Thank you for being a part of this incredible undertaking! Please make a generous donation today.
